Butcher of Brogdale

Most of our meat is sourced from the Butcher of Brogdale in Faversham, who work with several local farms in Kent. It is less than a 20 minute drive from the hotel.

Our meat is supplied to us from the award winning Butcher of Brogdale who have locations across Kent in Faversham, Ashford, Gillingham and Broadstairs.

The Butcher of Brogdale take pride in following traditional principles in hanging and maturing meat slowly to provide superior quality, taste and flavour.

All of their meat comes with excellent traceable provenance from locally sourced farms as well as breeding and rearing their own free range animals.

The Butcher of Brogdale's Sussex beef is renowned for the quality of meat, the marbling of fat that keeps the meat moist and provides a wonderful flavour to any dish.

The saltmarsh lamb they source includes flocks from the Romney Marshes when in season which has a greater depth of flavour and sweeter taste. The Romney breed are able to roam and therefore also have a denser leaner meat.

The Gloucester Old Spot pigs are fed on cider apples giving them their own distinctive flavour and can be seen at the Faversham Brogdale site adjacent to our butchers shop. They also contribute to our many varieties of award winning sausages.
